Griggs is still open! A potential partner, Leonardo's Basement, would like to expand programming at the site while the city continues to manage outdoor programming. Leonardo's Basement would like to meet with residents -- whether you use the rec center now or not -- to learn more about neighborhood interests, concerns and opportunities. Community Meeting: The future of Griggs Rec Center, Monday, October 12, 6:30-8:00pm, at Griggs Rec Center, 1188 Hubbard Ave. Please join your neighbors, Councilmember Russ Stark, staff from Parks and Rec, Hamline Midway Coalition and Leonardo's Basement for a conversation about the future of Griggs. All are welcome and children and their families are especially encouraged to attend (activities provided for children ages 4 and up). Help shape the future of Griggs! Leonardo's Basement is a community-centered organization that focuses on providing programming to encourage youth ages 6-16 succeed in science, technology, engineering, art & math. For more information see www.leonardosbasement.org If you have questions about the community meeting, contact Kathy Korum in Parks and Recreation at kathy.korum@ci.stpaul.mn.us or 651-266-6373. |
