1. HMC has Snow Emergency signs available that you can put out on your block to remind neighbors when a Snow Emergency is in effect. For information on rules during a Snow Emergency, call 651-266-PLOW (7569).
2. Property owners must clear their sidewalks within 24 hours after a snowfall. HMC has door hangers available to remind neighbors of their responsibility. If you would like some door hangers, call HMC at 651-646-1986.
3. If a neighbor is having trouble clearing snow from their sidewalk, please see if they need assistance. Help with snow shoveling for seniors and the disabled is available through the Senior Chore Service (see back page for more info). If your neighbor is physically able to clear snow from their sidewalk, but fails to do so in a timely fashion, call the city complaint line at 651-266-8989.
4. If you live near a bus stop, please consider clearing the snow from the stop. Your neighbors who use public transportation will love you for it.
