Proposed Designs for Hoa Bien Restaurant at 1129 University Avenue
Hoa Bien Restaurant, 1129 University Avenue, has announced plans for a new restaurant seating 75 customers and an events and wedding reception hall for up to 253 occupants. The existing Hoa Bien Restaurant would be replaced by a two-story looking building on the northwest corner of Lexington and University, with 75 parking spaces on the west side and north side of the new building. An outdoor terrace area could seat restaurant customers on the Lexington Avenue side of the building behind a fence and various plantings. Customers will only be able to enter the Hoa Bien parking lot from University Avenue. Hoa Bien customers will not be able to enter or exit the parking lot from the alley. Senior Co-Op
These conceptual drawings represent a proposed new housing development on Thomas Avenue between Asbury and Simpson, on the south side of the street. This area is currently a fenced in green space adjacent to a parking ramp and 3 story commercial building owned by David VanLandschoot. The project would include approximately 42 units of senior coop housing within a 5 story building with the main entrance on Thomas and underground parking. These are only conceptual drawings at this point. More detailed site plans and drawings will become available in the future. There will be community meetings to review these plans with an opportunity for residents and/or businesses to raise questions or issues with this project.
